We aim to support all Sporting Clubs within Clare in the participation of sport all across the sporting network including;

 

  • Support and Development – Better established links between LSP’s and Clubs using a structured and standard setting template for development.
  • Having an accredited or licensed programme recognised nationally and internationally.
  • Supporting communities to grow their clubs into more inclusive units through the development of policies and procedures which encourage participation of all abilities in a safe and friendly environment.
  • Membership – Allowing clubs to examine methods to increasing membership through innovative recruitment – a well run club will be better established to attract new members.
  • Capacity Development of Members – supporting the clubs to build the capacity of its members including player / athletes, administrators, sports coaches / leaders/volunteers to ensure that the workload of running a club does not fall on a few.
  • Promotion of Club – A well managed club can use the positive profile to attract additional members, sponsors and funding opportunities, it can also be a positive component to promoting a local community.
  • Potential to link to financial and non financial support through programmes delivered by NGB’s / LSP’s etc.
Covid 19 Return to Sport Grant 

We know how hard it is going to be for clubs to return to sport in the coming weeks and months due to the requirements to ensure infection control. We have developed a limited fund to help you along the way with buying supplies such as hand sanitisers, thermometers etc.To apply, you must be a registered not for profit sports club (i.e. affiliated to a National Governing Body for Sport), based and operating in County Clare. Small Grants – Temporarily Suspended

Clare LSP Small Grants Scheme for Clubs

This grant scheme aims to increase participation in Sport and Physical Activity and in particular develop opportunities within our target groups – young people, women in sport, disadvantaged groups, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and older adults. The grant scheme aims to assist new and existing not-for-profit clubs in creating structures which provide long term development and benefits to the club.

Clare LSP will consider applications based on the information provided in the application form and having regard to the number of applications received, and the financial resources available to us in respect of the Scheme. Priority will be given to supporting new initiatives that will result in increased participation, while local needs, circumstances and gaps, if any, will also be taken into account. This form must be completed in order for us to make a decision on whether or not we can support your request. Decisions will be made for each project at the monthly project team meeting, usually held on the first week of each month.

Ineligible Projects: Capital/ building projects, day to day club costs (transports/ rent/ insurance/ coaching costs), applications from clubs for profit, applications from individuals, clubs not affiliated to a relevant National Governing Body.

 

 

Eligible Projects:  Introduction of new sports projects for Clare Sports Partnership target groups, projects which will have a wide geographical impact, projects which will provide for a large number of participants, sustainable projects, outdoor education community projects for target groups (not trips), start-up of new clubs/ extension of existing club activities, additional physical activity opportunities in communities.

 

Prior to any funding being granted for a project, Clubs will need to provide proof of the following:

 

·         Club Constitution/ club rules/ club structure and or Memorandum and articles of Association

 

·         Copy of Club Financial statements for the previous 3 months

 

·         Copy of Club Insurance Certificate

 

·         Copy of Child protection policy and Child protection certificates (for clubs with a youth focus)

Clare LSP Youth Coaching Grant – Temporarily Suepended

 This Youth Coaching Grant Scheme aims to support club volunteers in gaining a coaching accreditation that will permit them to coach underage teams. Funding is available for young people who wish to get involved in coaching within their club. The Youth Coaching grant aims to assist new and existing not-for-profit clubs in creating structures which provide long term development and benefits to the club.

Applicants must be between 16 – 25 years of age and their club must be affiliated to a National Governing Body.

This form must be completed in order for us to make a decision on whether or not we can support your request. Decisions will be made for each application at Clare LSP monthly team meeting, usually held on the first week of each month. Clare LSP will consider applications based on the information provided in the application form and having regard to the number of applications received, and the financial resources available to us in respect of the scheme. Priority will be given to supporting coaches for new initiatives that will result in increased participation, to those seeking to gain their first qualification (eg. Foundation/ Level 1), while local needs, circumstances and gaps, if any, will also be taken into account. Decisions will be made for each project at the monthly project team meeting, usually held on the first week of each month.         The level of funding obtained will be dependent on the cost of the course, and the impact at club development level.

        As there are a limited number of grants, emphasis will be placed on the quality of the grant application

Ineligible Courses: Courses outside of Ireland, Sport related courses delivered by bodies not recognised under the National Coaching Development Programme or by the National Governing Bodies of Sport, generic sports courses delivered by a non-recognised agency, applications by individuals (must be made by the club), courses not directly related to the club.

Eligible Projects: Sports specific coach education (athletics/ basketball/ GAA/ soccer etc), Generic courses (Child Protection, First Aid), Accredited courses by NGBs, Adapted Physical Activity Training.
